Chatbot UI is a self-hosted project, separate from Chatbox. Its upstream custom-model request handler accepts a model-specific base_url; the earlier statement that it can never use a custom address was too broad. Use the custom model configuration in an installation that exposes it. Supply https://infistar.ai/v1, an Infistar key and a compatible model ID. Merely placing an Infistar key in a default provider field does not change the request destination. The exact administration workflow depends on the deployed version. Infistar has not verified every deployment end to end. If you do not manage the installation or cannot configure a custom model, use Chatbox or Open WebUI.

Check the connection

Use an exact model ID available to your key, and begin with a short text request. For coding agents, first ask for a reply without reading or changing files or running commands. A successful text reply does not verify every tool or multimodal feature. For 401, check the key and its status. For 404, check the address and protocol.
