title: Troubleshoot HTTP errors
description: Check API keys, balance, model IDs, request paths and request frequency using the returned HTTP status.
---

When a connection fails, find the HTTP status in the error and use the corresponding checks below.

| Status | Common cause | What to check |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **400** | Invalid request parameters | Restore the client's default parameters and check that the model supports any enabled image or tool features. |
| **401** | Invalid or expired API key | Copy the complete key again, remove surrounding spaces and confirm that the key remains enabled. |
| **402** | Insufficient balance | Open wallet management in the console to recharge or redeem credit. |
| **403** | The key cannot use this model | Check the key's group and model permissions, or select an available model. |
| **404** | Incorrect API address or model ID | Follow the client's base URL instructions and copy the exact model ID from models and pricing. |
| **429** | Requests are too frequent or the model is busy | Stop sending repeated requests. Wait 10–30 seconds before retrying; if it persists, reduce concurrent tasks or select another model. |
| **500 / 502 / 503 / 504** | Temporary service disruption or timeout | Wait 10–30 seconds before retrying. If the problem persists, check platform announcements and try another model. |

## If no status is shown

1. Check that the account has enough balance.
2. Copy the API key again without surrounding spaces.
3. Copy the exact model ID from [models and pricing](https://infistar.ai/pricing).
4. Check the address required by your client. Some use `https://infistar.ai`, while others use `https://infistar.ai/v1`.
5. Save the settings, fully quit the client and reopen it.

See [gateway configuration](/en/integration-guides/gateway-config) and [authentication and permissions](/en/integration-guides/authentication-permissions) for connection setup.

<Warning>
Do not send anyone your password, complete API key or complete redemption code. In a support screenshot, redact credentials and show only a few characters at the beginning and end of an API key.
</Warning>

## Information to prepare for support

If these checks do not resolve the problem, prepare the client name and version, approximate time, model ID, error screenshot with credentials redacted, and Request ID if one is available. Use the existing support entry in the [Infistar console](https://infistar.ai/console).
