Install Crush using the [upstream instructions](https://github.com/charmbracelet/crush). Configure an OpenAI-compatible provider with the following values:

| Setting | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Provider ID | `infistar` |
| Provider type | `openai-compat` |
| Base URL | `https://infistar.ai/v1` |
| API key | Your Infistar key |
| Model ID | An exact ID available to that key |

Current upstream releases document provider and model configuration through their configuration tools; use the syntax for your installed release. Older `.crush.json` examples may not describe the current configuration workflow. Select the configured provider and model before starting work.

## Check the connection

Use an exact model ID available to your key, and begin with a short text request. For coding agents, first ask for a reply without reading or changing files or running commands. A successful text reply does not verify every tool or multimodal feature.

For 401, check the key and its status. For 404, check the address and protocol. For model errors, recheck the model ID and selected group. See [HTTP troubleshooting](/en/troubleshooting/http-status-troubleshooting).
