Codex++ is a third-party configuration manager for the Codex desktop app. Install the official app first, then obtain Codex++ from its [project releases](https://github.com/BigPizzaV3/CodexPlusPlus/releases).

Close Codex and back up its local configuration before editing. Add a regular API provider named Infistar, use API mode, set `https://infistar.ai/v1`, enter your Infistar key and select Responses. Add an exact model ID that supports that protocol.

Enable the provider and launch Codex through the configured Codex++ entry. If the application cannot start, close the manager and client before restoring your backup. Do not let another manager overwrite the same settings concurrently.

## Check the connection

Use an exact model ID available to your key, and begin with a short text request. For coding agents, first ask for a reply without reading or changing files or running commands. A successful text reply does not verify every tool or multimodal feature.

For 401, check the key and its status. For 404, check the address and protocol. For model errors, recheck the model ID and selected group. See [HTTP troubleshooting](/en/troubleshooting/http-status-troubleshooting).
